Albufeira

Albufeira is one of the prettiest towns of the Algarve. Located in the district of Faro, Albufeira was once a moorish fortress and fishing village, which has grown into a popular travel destination. The old town, as well as the fisherman's hamlets, is worth a visit so too a walk through the pretty white-washed alleys. The coast is rich in sheltered sandy bays with turquoise clear water, ideal for sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling. There are also magical caves that can be visited for an enjoyable day out. During the evening, Albufeira is the perfect location for vibrant nightlife along with its many restaurants and bars.

Praia Sao Rafael

The Praia Sao Rafael (also known as St Raphael Beach) is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area of Albufeira. The soft fine sand is 'kissed' by clear warm water and is bordered by unusual limestone rock formations, shaped by the wind and sea over the centuries. For those who are looking for a secluded location, several small coves are hidden between the craggy formations. The beach has been awarded a prestigious 'Blue Flag'.

Armacao De Pera

Known locally as the 'old town', Armacao de Pera is a traditional fishing village with one of the finest sweeping sandy beaches - which has been completely protected from any development. The beach is bordered (west side) by the delightful caves 'Senhora da Rocha and Porches'; the red cliffs above the caves topped by green pines are a spectacular sight. Set behind the beach are excellent restaurants. In the town you will find shopping and numerous bars and cafes.

Vilamoura

Vilamoura is a pretty pine-forest area of the Algarve with sandy beaches, marina and many golf courses. The region is now environmentally protected making it a very special location for a holiday. Its southern border is lined by a long sandy beach and called Praia da FalÚsia and here you will find a selection of water sports and activities. Also within the Vilamoura area are four golf courses, a vibrant marina, a tennis and sports club, an excellent riding school, a shooting club, cinema and a varied selection of restaurants and bars.

Praia Do Castelo

Praia do Castelo is a cove of fine golden sand, one of the most appreciated of Algarve, with amazing blue water and warm sea. The beach is easily accessible with a short drive from Albufeira. Like St Raphael Beach, also Praia do Castelo is surrounded by unique rock formations: wether spending a day relaxing on the sand or walking trough the rocks will be a hard choice! The cove takes its name from the old tower (from the 16th century but still visible on the way to the beach) built as a watchtower for African pirates.
